Introducing ‘The Albino Index’ Series
The Albino Index is a series of portraits of rare albino animals, created and post-processed by artificial intelligence. Expressed as if they were preserved taxidermy specimens, these works explore the boundary between digital art and reality, posing a fundamental question to us.
Just like albino animals—a ‘possible but not guaranteed’ existence in nature due to genetic mutation—AI-generated images also exist in an uncertain space between the real and the purely fictional.
The Meaning and Philosophy: Where Does ‘Real’ Reside?
Each piece in this series goes beyond a beautiful image, challenging our perception of visual reality. How refined must an AI-generated image be to be accepted as ‘real’?
This question encourages us to deeply reflect on art and authenticity in the digital age. The Albino Index serves as the starting point for that very inquiry.
