SEOUL, LEON GALLERY
In the last century, palace-shaped buildings once stood across the country. They may look dated today, but each was built as an everyday “palace,” carrying the hopes and dreams of its time — from kindergartens and wedding halls to love motels, nightclubs, and apartments. Unlike the castles once inhabited by Western nobility, these buildings held a different kind of longing.
As they quietly disappear, this exhibition gathers an archive of what remains — some still standing, others surviving only as traces in old street-view images.
